Junior Geophysicist/Geofísico Júnior - CGG
Job Profile
The Junior Geophysicists will work closely with their Project Leader and Team Leader receiving guidance to enable them to learn new techniques such as:
- Multiple/Anti multiples
- Seismic velocity analysis
- Surface statistics correction
- Noise attenuation and Imaging techniques in more depth
Key Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for handling various tasks on different projects learning the environment, and the tools
- Acquire basic knowledge in Geophysics
- Avoid errors in judgment or failure that may cause delays in the project schedule and may require some expenditure of resources to rectify
- Establish a close communication with immediate supervisor
- Demonstrate that new skills are mastered throughout the life of the project
- Ensure that all the field data and support data have been provided and check the content.
- Act proactively in checking and analyzing the results and seeks advice if necessary
- Develop geophysical knowledge and computer skills by reading the documentation, attending training and discussion with colleagues.
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of the progress of the task he was assigned to perform and any problem encountered (delays against time schedule provided by immediate supervisor).

Skills/Experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills coupled with efficiency and ability to self-motivate and work in teams are essential.
- It is not necessary previous work experience
Typical Background
- Requires BS/BA or higher in Geosciences, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or other analytical discipline.

- Portuguese advanced
- English advanced
